Welcome to Aethelgard—your sovereign wealth & multi-generational ledger. This guide will walk you through setting up your multi-entity vault, importing your first transactions, and securing your data offline.

Aethelgard is a local-first application. Your data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly configure a WebDAV backup.

1. Escaping the Chaos

Most wealth management across multiple entities ends up looking like this: fragmented spreadsheets, mixed currencies, and no single source of truth.

Aethelgard solves this by bringing everything into one cryptographically secure vault. Let's get started.

2. Multi-Entity Architecture

Aethelgard allows you to run as many entities as you need—each with its own jurisdiction, base currency, and Chart of Accounts.

Setting up your first entity:

  1. Navigate to Entity Management via the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Entity.
  3. Select an entity type (e.g., UK Corporation, Private Individual, Trust). The jurisdiction and currency will auto-fill based on the template.
  4. Click Save.

3. Universal Vault Import

Instead of manually typing out every expense, Aethelgard allows you to drag and drop bank CSVs directly into the Universal Vault.
